Recovering Windows Media on a Satellite Laptop

This was done on a model L505-S5990 and L505D-GS6000

These machines are not shipped with any install media. You can recover to an out of the box state with the following steps.

1. turn off
2. remove battery
3. remove AC power
4. wait 30 seconds
5. install battery
6. connect AC power
7. hold the 0 key
8. while holding 0, press the power button

It should then give you a black and white screen with a status bar and a message reading "loading files". From here you can restore the system.
